Tonight from about 8:30pm on Channel 9 current affairs show 60 Minutes there is something about MS. It appears to be about Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT). Our friend Lauren was featured in the first story. Seems to follow a woman traveling to Moscow and successfully completing treatment. It's not a first line treatment in Australia, and the program in Canberra was cancelled. However it is under trial at the Austin in Melbourne and is covered by Medicare. Please be aware that there are a couple of scam clinics operating in Australia, using jargon and relying on testimonials - they'll just rob you of both hope and money. Chemotherapy is the key component of the process - just keep that in mind when looking at options. For much more information follow Kristy's Facebook page Moving Mountains to defeat MS (she's the one in the clip). Best of luck. Here is the link to 60 Minutes previous story about HSCT m.youtube.com/watch?v=SRtgFdKmfdo

Just in case you didn't receive this email on Friday regarding free MS film online: “Written by a journalist who thinks like a scientist, Shannon Harvey’s book uses the best available science to explain in simple language why we so often fail to get well, but more importantly, how we can succeed. The science provides a compelling explanation of Shannon’s own recovery; her book and her story will inspire countless people on their journeys of recovery from serious illness.” Professor George Jelinek MD, author of Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis. The Connection documentary on lifestyle medicine (including George Jelinek) is available on line for free for one month at: theconnection.tv/freefilm/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=viral friendshipsfree film&utm_content=viral friendshipsfree film+CID_613f18be09a367896ab360b5e07f7c52&utm_source=Campaign Monitor Tim Lamble tim.lamble@iinet.net.au 02 6292 0392
