Hello all, Yes, it is the fats and how they are altered/degraded in cooking that rules out chocolate. In Loving Earth Raw Organic chocolate, that I but at Health stores, I only saw one flavour that could be OMS friendly (the others have nuts or oils that are non-OMS lovingearth.net/dark-chocolate-72.htmlIt is 72% cacao, %28 evaporated coconut nectar Per 100 grams, it's 33.7 g fat, 18 g saturated fat I think that it could also still be out. Kakao itself is only around 11 g fat, 7 g saturated fat... What does this mean for it? I think some Emma and Tom bars are okay OMS, but not so chocolate-like. What are naked chocolate bars, and where do you buy them in Canberra? ;-) Cheers, Michael

GDay Michael, and happy new year. First: yikes!!!! coconut is toxic to PwMS (that is, equals broken myelin) - check the OMS guidelines. Not sure what other posts were before/in relation to this one. I found out about the Nak'd bars from someone at an OMS workshop. I've tried to find Nak'd bars in Canberra and couldn't find. That was maybe a couple of years ago and I didn't look exhaustively. I ordered them from www.goodygoodygumdrops.com.au - not sure if they stock them anymore. Good luck and best wishes Jane

Cheers Jane, I think I was double-posting in OMS and Canberra, and forgetting which conversation was which. I know coconut itself is very non-OMS. Dessicated coconut, coconut flesh and coconut milk and cream are way out, as you say. I think coconut water, and coconut essence have no fat, and scrape in. It is coconut essence that enables OMS Thai cooking. :-D I think that coconut nectar may be low enough in fate to make it. So Nak'd, is it? How Shakespearean!
Thanks, Michael

*** Chocolate Hit ***
I just remembered......
My favorite chocolate hit is Cadbury's Drinking Chocolate (MS friendly).
Also, I believe that Dick Smith's drinking chocolate is MS friendly.

It must be evaporating the coconut nectar that increases the fat. Unrefined coconut nectar at health shops has NO fat.... Raw Earth is out, Nakd is in, as is DIY.
